The Georgia Policy Labs (GPL) at Georgia State University is seeking a senior research associate who can apply theory and advanced data analysis to micro-level data to answer our government partners’ policy questions related to child welfare, early care, education, and economic well-being. GPL is an interdisciplinary research center that drives policy and programmatic decisions that lift children, students, and families—especially those experiencing vulnerabilities. This is a sponsor-funded position with funding secured through December 2023 with the aim of long-term funding.
Job Duties
• Perform quantitative policy research on issues related to child safety, early care, education, and economic well-being, including working with large, longitudinal, micro-level administrative data sets and coding, producing analyses, and gaining feedback from state partners. This work will be done as part of teams or as lead researcher, dependent on the project.
• Lead specific projects, including managing the analytical plan, ensuring analyses are completed in a timely and quality manner and incorporate feedback from GPL and its partners
• Write policy reports and briefs based on research
• Review code, analyses, and policy briefs and reports for other team members; provide suggested improvements
• Writing academic manuscripts related to policy research
