The Department of Economics in the College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a full-time Director of Undergraduate Studies to begin in June 2023. The appointment will at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, depending on qualifications. This is a 100% time position over the 12-month calendar year. Salary is competitive. The Department of Economics is committed to attracting candidates from historically under-represented groups.
The Director of Undergraduate Studies will teach three undergraduate economics courses each year and construct the undergraduate curriculum in collaboration with the Department Chair and Curriculum Committee. The DUS will appoint and assign teaching assistants for undergraduate courses and will fully supervise all aspects of graduate teaching assistant instruction.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Economics
- Minimum 3 years teaching economics at the undergraduate level
- Proven record of teaching excellence
- Demonstrated interest in economics pedagogy
- Experience successfully navigating large, complex organizations
- Ability to collaborate on complicated projects in an educational environment.
