Postdoctoral position in applied economics (80%)

at the Institute of Economic Research of the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, with an interest in the following fields: public economics, environmental economics, energy economics, behavioral economics.

Job starts: 1 September 2023
Term: 2 years + 1 year conditional on performance
Location: Neuchâtel, Switzerland

Job description: The objective of the position is to write research papers in applied economics and develop a portfolio of activities to apply for a professorship. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Bruno Lanz (https://sites.google.com/site/brunolanzwebpage/) and have the opportunity to perform individual research as part of a dynamic research environment, with ample scope for collaborations within and outside Switzerland. She or he will have an opportunity to participate in ongoing projects, including as part of the SWEET consortium on Swiss energy research, take part in the activities organized by the Institute (e.g., research seminars), get an experience in the supervision of junior researchers (MSc and PhD students), and teach introductory courses for students in economics and finance.

Applicant profile: A doctoral degree (PhD) in Economics (or being in the process of completion) with an excellent potential for publications in peer-reviewed economic journals. Interest in at least one of the relevant fields of economic research (public, environmental, energy, behavioral) and advanced skills in applied econometrics and/or economic experiments. Previous teaching experience and existing publications are a plus.
