Qualifications: Ph.D. in Applied/Agricultural Economics, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. The successful candidate will develop a nationally prominent research program in agribusiness, entrepreneurship, supply chain management, or related fields, and be an effective classroom instructor. Outstanding oral and written communication skills are required.
Job Description: 60% Research, 40% Teaching. The Department is particularly interested in candidates with experience in the agribusiness sector or who are working in food entrepreneurship and value-added agriculture who can actively engage with industry and collaborate with existing faculty to support entrepreneurial efforts across the state. The successful candidate will be expected to: (1) develop a nationally prominent research program with extramural funding and publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, (2) teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses focused on agribusiness, entrepreneurship and related areas (generally three courses per year), and contribute to the development and growth of the undergraduate Agribusiness major, (3) advise undergraduate students, direct graduate student theses and undergraduate research projects, and advise student clubs and competition teams, and (4) communicate research results to relevant policymakers, practitioners and other stakeholders.
