Centre for Net Zero (CNZ) is looking for a Data Scientist.

CNZ is an impact-driven research unit established by Octopus Energy. We deliver pioneering research to make the future energy system a reality and work at the intersection of tech, energy and climate. Through our access to millions of Octopus Energy customers globally, we use experimentation and modelling to design a people-centred future energy system.

The Data Scientist will focus on building demand models and tools for academic researchers, grid operators and policy stakeholders (including building on open-source models).

What you'll need...

- In-depth experience developing data pipelines/data platforms to solve real-world problems.
- Fluency in Python, SQL.
- Experience with Terraform.
- An understanding of the “modern data stack”
- A love for automation, building a tech stack that enables a variety of projects to be successful and deploying good maintainable code.
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is heavily desirable, but other Cloud Platforms with Terraform are fine too.

Experience working in energy is beneficial, but not necessary.
