The Department of Quantitative Theory and Methods at Emory University invites applications for a full-time assistant teaching professor to teach in the areas of statistical theory, machine learning, causal inference, and the intersection of these fields to begin Fall 2023.

The successful applicants must have Ph.D. in Statistics, Economics, or related field and have at least two semesters of experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Administrative experience is preferred.

QTM is a new and rapidly growing interdisciplinary department at Emory with faculty from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds including biology, computer science, economics, English, operations research, political science, public health, sociology, and statistics. Candidates must be excellent teachers, effective advisors, and have the potential to administer our undergraduate and graduate program.

We are especially interested in candidates with demonstrated ability in leading groups of students on capstone research projects and to administrate departmental programs.
Responsibilities include teaching-track faculty teaching load of five courses, supporting administration of the undergraduate and graduate programs through advising undergraduates and graduates, and participating in the life of the college through committees and other forms for academic service.
