The Nicholas C. Petris Center on Health Care Markets and Consumer Welfare (petris.org) in the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley, is a health economics research center that focuses on empirical research on important health policy topics.

The Assistant Researcher will work independently and as part of the Petris Center research team working on studies with a focus on analyzing the effects of markets and regulations on healthcare prices, healthcare quality, and insurer premiums, leading to peer-reviewed publications and reports.

Key responsibilities include research design, data acquisition and analysis, interpretation of results, and writing manuscripts, reports, and grant applications.

Required to be located for in-person work on the Berkeley campus with remote options when in-person meetings are not occurring. We are looking for an economist that is strong in microeconomics; health economics experience is preferred, but is not required.
