The Department of Economics at Swarthmore College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor.

We seek candidates with the demonstrated ability to teach introductory economics or econometrics, as well as courses in their research specialization. Starting with the fall semester of 2023, this is a two-year appointment. Salary commensurate with experience. The course load is 4 courses per year (2 per semester).

Located in the suburbs roughly 10 miles west of Philadelphia and just 20 miles from Wilmington, Delaware, Swarthmore College is a highly selective liberal arts college whose mission combines academic rigor with social responsibility. The Economics Department is one of the strongest liberal-arts departments in the country, with 13 tenure-track faculty. Candidates must have a Ph.D. completed by August 2023. The strongest candidates will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to creative teaching and an active research program that speaks to and motivates undergraduates from diverse backgrounds.
