The Palo Alto VA in collaboration with Stanford University is looking for a 2-year post-doctoral scholar. We are seeking a diverse pool of applicants who wish to join team to conduct and disseminate health research. We particularly encourage applications from women, minority, and first-generation PhD recipients, as well as candidates from a broad diversity of PhD-granting institutions.

The Big Data-Scientist Training Enhancement Program (BD-STEP) was launched by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) 2015. VA houses unparalleled health and medical data from more than 6 million Veterans who use care each year across the nation. VA implements programs in response to patient needs and Congressional requirements, and this position will work with investigators at the Center to study the impact of these programs using causal inference methods.

The Veterans Impact Policy Lab was founded in 2022 and is directed by Anita Vashi, MD MPH, David Chan, MD, PhD, and Todd Wagner, PhD. VA Palo Alto partners with Stanford University and fellowship recipients will have a joint appointment at Stanford University.
