This position is located in the Bureau of Economics of the Federal Trade Commission. The Bureau of Economics provides economic analysis and support to antitrust and consumer protection investigations and rulemakings, advises the Commission and other government entities about the impact of government regulation, and analyzes economic phenomena in the nation's economy as they relate to antitrust and consumer protection policy. The Deputy Director for Research and Management provides executive leadership and oversight of the Bureau's economic research functions, as well as its planning, human capital, operational, and strategic management functions. The Deputy oversees Bureau research and studies on matters pertaining to the economic implications of various Commission programs and policies involving both competition and consumer protection issues. These analyses may be the source of advice and assistance to individual Commissioners, the entire Commission, or the broader economic policy community.
