Sai University (SaiU) is a new research oriented liberal arts and sciences university in Chennai, India. The economics program at SaiU has been designed for students to engage with the history of ideas, local context, critical global challenges, and core concepts underlying modern economics. The interdisciplinary design of the program is meant to ensure that students leave with the sense of economics as an expansive discipline encompassing history, politics, psychology, philosophy, and mathematics.

We are looking for faculty who are excited by this vision to help shape a unique Economics program, and are willing to engage in the work of building a new university. Given the scope of the program, we welcome applicants across all branches of Economics.

Assistant Professor candidates must demonstrate potential for high-quality research and an enthusiasm for teaching and institutional service. Associate Professors should have an established track record of both research and teaching. Professors, in addition to academic achievement, are expected to be academic leaders at the University.
