The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs seeks a Staff Associate II (Officer of Research) to support policy research on domestic and international nuclear energy and waste topics, reviews of related U.S. statutes and regulations, and to facilitate dialogues on nuclear policy topics such as nuclear liabilities and the India Nuclear Energy Program. They will also be responsible for drafting summaries of these activities.

They are expected to be familiar with both the India Nuclear Energy Program as well as some of the relevant statutes and regulations governing improvements and modernizations to US nuclear power reactor licensing, including but not limited to: the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, 10 CFR Part 50 (Domestic Licensing Of Production And Utilization Facilities), Part 52 (Licenses, Certifications, And Approvals For Nuclear Power Plants).

The incumbent will support CGEP’s Senior Research Scholars by assisting with interpretation of research and conducting literature reviews in support of two Principal Investigators, one in the Nuclear Policy research program and one in the India Energy research program.
