Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Defense Resources Management Institute invites applications for PhD economists to join an exciting mission teaching security cooperation to U.S. and partner nation students. Economics contributes extensively to security cooperation by supporting the selection and life-cycle management of portfolios of activities that promote US security objectives. We focus on the connections among national security goals, defense strategies, program options and capabilities, and budgetary resource needs, and our students apply economics tools and concepts to improve efficient and effective use of scarce defense resources. Economists teach year-round in residence and abroad in executive education courses.

Candidates should have an established academic record or career history demonstrating expertise in defense economics, public-sector resourcing, national security, or relevant micro- or macro-economics. Successful candidates will show a commitment to executive education and academic research on economics of national defense or security cooperation.
