Frostburg State University, College of Business, Engineering, Computational & Mathematical Sciences, seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor / Assistant Professor of Economics position. This position begins Fall 2024. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience/qualifications; University System of Maryland benefits package included.

Responsibilities: Teach primarily undergraduate courses in Economics, including Principles of Economics, and upper-level courses, preferably Managerial Economics, Regional Economics, Public Sector Economics, Labor Economics, Quantitative Economics, and Money and Banking with appropriate research/service to the institution/community including conducting regional impact studies.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD in Economics or Applied Economics. Evidence of dynamic excellence in teaching (teaching evaluations) and ability to attract majors to the department are required. Excellence in scholarly work is also necessary to maintain AACSB accreditation. If the selected candidate is ABD, they will be hired at the rank of Instructor, with the requirement that the candidate finish the doctoral degree within the first year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to individuals willing to teach online or in person at our sister institution in China during Summer.
