The Finance Area of the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is inviting applicants for a tenure-track, academic year position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Finance program is expanding its curricular focus to include courses in quantitative finance areas, including Financial Econometrics, Fin-Tech and Financial Analytics. We invite applicants with teaching and research interests in these areas to apply. Additionally, candidates with secondary teaching and research interests in fixed income markets are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants should have an active research agenda and be committed to excellence in research and teaching, at both undergraduate and MBA levels.

Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Appointment at the Assistant Professor rank is anticipated; the anticipated salary range is $123,900-137,000.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must have completed a doctorate or equivalent degree in Finance, Economics or a closely related field from an accredited institution. The Ph.D. should be awarded by the time of appointment in Fall 2024. Applicants are expected to demonstrate exemplary teaching, a strong publication record and research pipeline, and currency in their professional field. Applicants must have the ability to work with diverse students and engage diversity in the curriculum. The candidate must demonstrate a track record of and/or plan for incorporating curricular coverage of areas related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as to promote inclusive teaching strategies. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.
