Center for Advanced Research in Finance (CARF) at the University of Tokyo welcomes applications for the full-time Assistant Professor position beginning any time after April 2024. This is a three-year fixed-term position with a possible extension of another three years.

Teaching load is light: one undergraduate course of financial economics per year. We are interested in candidates from the field of financial economics (money and banking, corporate finance, etc).

The position is required to support management and operation of CARF. Still, 50 percent of time should be allocated to own research.

A Ph.D. (received or expected by October 2024) is required with strong commitment to research.

We will begin considering applications in end-January and will continue doing so until the position is filled. Please apply as early as possible, and before March 31, 2024.

Initial interviews will be conducted via online, starting from early March.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, three letters of reference, teaching evaluations if available, and at least one research paper (the job market paper) through the AEA JOE system.
