Full Text of JOE Listing:
Stanford’s newly established Institute on Race, in collaboration with the Stanford Center on Longevity, seeks a postdoctoral fellow to conduct research related to societal well-being and race/ethnicity.
The fellow will identify key indicators of societal well-being and their relationship to racial and ethnic equality in long-lived societies, as well as help identify indicators that are adaptable across societies and can be updated over time.
The fellow will work with Institute faculty directors, Brian Lowery and Tomás Jiménez, and attend weekly seminars with New Map of Life fellows. While most of the postdoc’s time will be dedicated to the project, there is opportunity to conduct related independent research. The initial appointment is for one year (with potential to renew a second year). Salary is standardized based on Stanford University guidelines. Benefits are provided.
To be successful, the applicant will have a Ph.D. in any discipline received within the last three years, with preference for a scholar with a background in social science, data science, public health/health policy, demography, or statistics. The applicant should have a range of statistical and data skills, including knowledge of data management and analysis. Experience managing large datasets and executing data analysis in complex environments highly valued.
Stanford University is an equal-opportunity employer.
