The Hunt Institute for Global Competitiveness at The University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct policy-focused research related to U.S.-Mexico Trade and Commerce.
While the academic home for the postdoctoral researcher will be the Department of Economics and Finance, this position carries no teaching responsibilities. All work is focused on research and developing and publishing the individual’s academic research.
This is a full-time benefited position for one academic year with the possibility of an extension subject to funding availability. The position provides opportunities to publish academic journal articles, develop policy-oriented research experience, and present scholarly work at academic conferences. The expected starting date is September 1, 2024. Salary/benefits are AACSB-competitive.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Economics with a focus related to International Economics, Trade, and US-Mexico Border Issues. Preference given to applicants with policy-relevant experience working within research centers and institutions.
