The Department of Economics at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applicants for Postdoctoral Scientist position to take part in interdisciplinary multi-state research project funded by NSF RII Track-2 award Where We Live: Local and Place Based Adaptation to Climate Change in Underserved Rural Communities.
The ideal candidate will work on a project centered on divergence and/or convergence of human perceived and instrumented climate change induced impacts and would have experience in working with large-scale geospatial data and econometric modeling. We are interested in candidates with experience working on problems unique to irrigated agricultural water users/stakeholders in rural, water scarce regions of the western U.S.
Required Qualifications
• Strong quantitative skills including economic modeling and econometric methods.
• Ability to produce academic research papers and presentations.
• Ph.D. in Natural Resource, Agricultural, Applied Economics, or closely related field within Economics.
• Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required. The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.
• The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.
