Full Text of JOE Listing:

Postgraduate internship at EPA, Office of Land and Emergency Management (OLEM) in Washington, D.C.

OLEM programs work in communities across America cleaning up Superfund sites; responding to emergencies; assisting tribes, state and local governments with cleaning up and redeveloping contaminated properties, brownfield sites and underground storage tanks sites; establishing protections for management of hazardous waste; and promoting recycling and sustainable materials management. It is an exciting time to join OLEM as a research participant due to:

Unprecedented investments from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to cleanup pollution at Superfund and brownfield sites, which will help advance environmental justice, spur economic revitalization and to transform solid waste management to relieve communities burdened by pollution impacts

The Justice40 Initiative, that for the first time in our nation’s history, the Federal Government has made it a goal that certain Federal investments flow to disadvantaged communities underserved and overburdened by pollution

The ongoing implementation of the Foundations for Evidence Based Policymaking Act of 2019, which requires federal agencies develop evidence to support policymaking.
These important initiatives provide an opportunity to contribute to research projects related to efforts that will have real benefits for the American people, particularly those disadvantaged or overburdened by environmental hazards.
