Banco de México, the Mexican central bank, is interested in hiring experienced or newly qualified Ph.D.'s in economics or related fields, for its headquarters in Mexico City, to work at its Research Directorate ("Dirección General de Investigación Económica").

The main tasks expected of the hiree are to carry out high-quality, policy-oriented research for publication in refereed journals and for the Bank's senior management. Hirees are expected to have, or commit to acquire, a good command of written and spoken Spanish.

The Research Directorate offers an excellent working and research environment, intense external and internal seminar series, workshops, conference travel support, access to proprietary data, a multinational workforce and competitive compensation.

We will be interviewing and flying-out selected candidates starting December 2024. Graduating Ph.D. applicants should submit a CV, a research paper, three letters of reference and a cover letter explaining their interest in working for Banco de México by using econjobmarket.org. Experienced candidates can provide a list of references instead of reference letters.
