The Department of Economics at Appalachian State University is seeking candidates for the endowed Stephenson Family Distinguished Professor in Economics position, which is open to the academic ranks of full professor as a distinguished professor, or associate professor as a distinguished scholar. The professorship holder will maintain a high level of professional service and leadership beyond the University. The start date is for the Fall 2025 semester. The successful candidate for this endowed faculty position is expected to maintain a nationally and internationally recognized research program in applied econometrics, with a focus on environmental and resource economics, and/or experimental and behavioral economics. The department seeks individuals with an outstanding publication record, a strong record or potential for external research funding, proven excellence as a teacher, and an interest in participating in department service activities. In particular, the department seeks candidates with the willingness and expertise to teach courses in applied econometrics and statistics at the undergraduate level, and the graduate level for programs such as Master of Science in Applied Data Analytics and Master of Business Administration.

The successful candidate will hold a 9-month faculty position. The initial appointment to this endowed distinguished professorship will be for a period of five years and will be renewable based upon annual performance.
