The Economics Subject Group within Newcastle University Business School has 33 full-time research and teaching staff. We are a collegiate and generalist department with expertise in all areas of economics. We deliver teaching and learning of the highest quality and attract highly qualified students to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Subject Group members have active funded projects in a range of areas including the Creative Industries and their Internationalisation, Education, Development, Energy, Environmental, and Rural Economics. The Group has a long tradition in informing public sector policy formation and hosts a state-of-the-art Behavioural Research Laboratory.

We have expanded significantly in recent years and now invite applications from strong candidates, committed to collegiality, for an open-field lectureship.

You will hold, or be close to obtaining, a relevant PhD and will be able to demonstrate a capacity to publish in journals of international standing. You will also have: (i) A clear and viable strategy for sustained future research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications; and (ii) the ability to teach economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
