The department of Finance & Economics at the Rollins College of Business invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics position beginning August 2026.

Successful candidates must be academically qualified to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in Economics, particularly intermediate microeconomics, a capstone course, and at least two microeconomics subfields, such as labor and game theory. Responsibilities include teaching nine credit hours per semester, conducting research leading to quality-refereed journal publications, and engaging in service activities related to the department, College, and University, including efforts to engage and retain students, and connect UTC with the business community in Chattanooga. Salary and benefits are competitive with peer institutions.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics or closely related field (or be in the ABD stage of their doctoral studies), with expected completion of the Ph.D. prior to the position start date.
Preference will be given to applicants who apply by October 15, 2025. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Initial interviews will be conducted via Zoom.
