Full-Time Tenure Track Position in Public Economics

The O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (O’Neill) at Indiana University-Bloomington invites applications for a tenure-track academic appointment in the general field of public economics at the rank of Assistant Professor. Preferred start date is August 1, 2026.

Candidates must have completed (or expect to complete before appointment) a Ph.D. in economics, public policy, or a related field. Applicants are expected to develop a nationally recognized program of research, seek external funding, advise doctoral students, mentor master's and undergraduate students, and teach courses related to public finance (e.g. public budgeting, taxation, cost-benefit analysis, public financial management) at graduate and undergraduate levels to students who come from many different backgrounds.

Applicants should demonstrate an interest in contributing to O’Neill’s research programs, curricular offerings, and service portfolio. To ensure consideration, application materials must be received by October 15, 2025. However, the search may continue until the position is filled.
