Job Description: Associate Professor in Macroeconomics (fixed-term)

Job Duties:　The successful applicant will be expected to:
1) Contribute to the development of our English-taught programs by teaching the following courses in English: Macroeconomics at the undergraduate and master's levels; subjects related to the Kobe University Interdisciplinary Master’s Program (KIMAP); and an English-based seminar in the International Five-Year Integrated Economics Education Program at Kobe (IFEEK).
2) Conduct active research in fields such as macroeconomics, microeconomics, or econometrics.
3) Assist in organizing seminars and in carrying out administrative tasks associated with entrance examinations.

Employment Conditions: Full-time, 5-year fixed-term contract.
If you are currently employed by, or have previously been employed by, this university, the contract term may be adjusted based on your employment history.

Starting Date: October 1st, 2026

Applicant Eligibility: Candidates must satisfy the following requirements:
1) Must have native or near-native fluency in English.
2) Must have obtained a Ph.D. in economics by the start of the appointment.
3) Must have a strong track record of high-quality research in economics.

Selection Process: The first round of selection will be based on a review of application documents. Applicants who pass the first round will be contacted individually by mid-February 2026 to arrange an interview schedule. In the second round, the final candidate will be selected based on a job seminar and an interview (either on-site or on-line).
