The Department of Economics invites applications to fill a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting in September 2026. Applications will be considered from all candidates with research interests in applied microeconomics, with emphasis on applied theory and industrial organization. We are especially interested in candidates with research interests that complement the department's existing strengths in applied research and align with the department's aspirations for excellence in research in the broad area of applied microeconomics, with a focus on teaching and advising in these areas. Candidates are expected to develop an outstanding research program, to provide excellent teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and to supervise student research. We particularly welcome applications from candidates who can support the department's teaching needs in graduate and undergraduate microeconomic theory and/or in industrial organization.
Qualifications: Candidates should expect to receive their Ph.D. before the start of the appointment.

The salary range for this position is $130,000-$195,000. Tufts University is committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation that reflects each candidate’s experience, expertise, responsibilities, and performance. The pay offered within the posted range will be determined based on a variety of factors such as (but not limited to) the individual’s education and experience, discipline, rank, internal equity, and budgetary considerations. Ranges represent full-time 9- or 12- month base salaries.
