The Department of Finance and Economics at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, specializing macroeconomics, to begin in Fall 2026.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach both graduate and undergraduate economics courses at our San Marcos and Round Rock campuses, publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals, and provide service to the department, the university, and the profession. Candidates must have an interest in applying innovative and rigorous analytical approaches to interesting real-world problems in economics.

Located in San Marcos, Texas—between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of the Texas Innovation Corridor—Texas State University is a vibrant, nationally recognized research university serving more than 40,000 students in over 200 degree programs. The Department of Finance and Economics is one of five departments in the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University. With more than 40 faculty members, it is a large, multidisciplinary academic unit committed to innovative teaching, impactful research, and student success.
