The Department of Economics (https://www.lsu.edu/business/economics/) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant / Associate Professor rank specializing in Health Economics to begin in Fall 2026.  

The Associate Professor rank comes with tenure.  Candidates applying for the Associate Professor rank must have a solid publication record and an active research agenda that would result in future publications in top-tier economics journals.

Candidates applying for the Assistant Professor rank must have received their PhD in economics by August 2026. Senior Assistant Professors are highly encouraged to apply. Senior applicants must have a strong research record, while junior candidates must exhibit clear potential for developing a promising, solid research agenda.

All applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, a statement summarizing their research agenda and teaching interests, and arrange for three recommendation letters to be submitted. The junior applicants should also submit copies of selected research papers and graduate transcripts.  The deadline for applications is December 5, 2025. We are planning to schedule interviews for the Associate Professor position beginning in late Fall. Interviews for the Assistant Professor rank will take place after the AEA meetings.
