The Economics Department of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications in any area of economics for a tenure track assistant professor or tenured/tenure-track associate professor, with appointment beginning July 1, 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity for high quality research and teaching. Duties will include research, undergraduate/graduate teaching, mentoring, and service. We will consider applicants completing their graduate degrees as well as those with experience in academic and other settings. To be hired as an Assistant or Associate Professor, a completed Ph.D. in Economics or a related field is required by July 1, 2026. An initial appointment of Instructor will be applied to a successful candidate who expects to complete the Ph.D. by July 1, 2027. Review of applications will begin by November 1, 2025.
