The University of Mississippi’s Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning August 2026.

The Department has a need for an economist who specializes in Law and Economics and who can teach at both the graduate and the undergraduate levels. The candidate will be expected to contribute to our undergraduate emphasis in Law and Economics and our 3+3 program with the law school. The ability to teach Public Choice at the graduate level is a plus, but not required.
 
A Ph.D. completed by August 2026 is expected.

Applicants must provide a cover letter, a curriculum vita, one working paper, a graduate transcript, and three letters of recommendation. The cover letter should describe current and projected research and teaching interests. Letters should be submitted through JOE.
