We are inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in Economics or a related discipline. The appointment will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and is available for up to three years.

The post-doctoral associate will spend half of their time on independent research and half on collaborative projects with Professors Veda Narasimhan and Raül Santaeulàlia-Llopis. The collaborative work will focus on health and family economics, including projects on obesity, health insurance, and public health systems. We seek candidates who are skilled in solving quantitative macroeconomic models with heterogeneous agents, in empirical quasi-experimental analysis, or ideally in both. The candidate must have expertise in, or a strong willingness to develop expertise in, the analysis of administrative data.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in policy-relevant research and in gaining experience working with both administrative data and field data.

The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. You would join a group of over 20 post-doctoral fellows and 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science.
