Professors Matt Backus (UC Berkeley), Ashley Swanson (UW Madison), and Andrew Olenski (Lehigh) seek a full-time research assistant for two years to collaborate on projects in applied microeconomics, focusing on health care, industrial organization, productivity, and organizational economics, with an emphasis on long-term care. The position is based at UC Berkeley and includes office space.
Ideal candidates will have or be completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in economics, public policy, education, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. Required qualifications include strong quantitative and programming skills, clear communication, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, an excellent academic record, and an interest in pursuing research in economics.
The team is committed to diversity and inclusion and actively mentors pre-doctoral fellows from a variety of backgrounds. Former research assistants have gone on to Ph.D. programs at Caltech, MIT, UW Madison, and business schools such as Wharton and Stanford GSB.
