The Department of Economics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Beirut (AUB) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in August 2026.

AUB is a teaching-centered research university committed to the liberal arts tradition. Founded in 1866, its mission is to generate and disseminate high-quality knowledge and to contribute to the development and well-being of Lebanon and the broader West Asia and North Africa region.

Applicants from all fields of Economics are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, maintain an active research program, and demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship. The teaching load is four courses per year, and the language of instruction is English. Candidates must hold a PhD in Economics by the time of appointment. The initial appointment is for four years and includes a mid-tenure review.
