The RCM Research team forecast macro variables and follow macro / political developments to best support the Investment team in decision making.

We are seeking an Economist to be a key stakeholder in the ongoing accuracy of RCM’s economic views, delivering commercially impactful insights to the Investment team. The individual is expected to have expertise in economic forecasting and quantitative economic analysis, leveraging both traditional and alternative data via innovative and novel methods.

Responsibilities include:
- Macro thought leadership: develop and present compelling macroeconomic insights that influence long-term investment strategy
- Country coverage: monitor and stay ahead of key economic, political, and market developments
- Economic modelling: forecasting of macroeconomic and financial variables, particularly inflation, central bank policy rates, and bond issuance
- Communication: confidently provide unique perspectives on market-relevant events, backed by rigorous analysis

Top candidates will evidence:
- Deep understanding of central bank decision-making processes, frameworks, and communication strategies
- Experience presenting to, and working directly with, front-line stakeholders. Excellent clarity in communication, particularly when conveying economic concepts to colleagues
- Track record of working at the intersection of macroeconomics and innovation, adopting new technologies to drive better forecasting
- Curiosity to explore new sources of data
