Full Text of JOE Listing:

Under the broad direction of the Governing Board, the thought leadership of the President, and the guidance of the Chief Economist and other senior management officials, the (Senior) Policy Fellow for Policy Design and Operation (Singapore) is expected to play a leading role in delivering high-quality communications.

Key Responsibilities:
1.Develop and outline actionable policy options.
2.Provide strategic advice at both regional and national levels in ASEAN and Emerging Asia, particularly Singapore, while staying up to date with emerging trends and best practices in the field.
3.Translate regional policy initiatives into research agendas and foster policy innovation in collaboration with the ERIA research team.
4.Lead and facilitate ERIA’s communications with policymakers in ASEAN and Emerging Asia, particularly Singapore, including leaders, ministers, and senior officials across various policy areas.
5.Design and implement ASEAN’s consultation framework in close coordination with both internal and external economists.
6.Engage with key stakeholders—such as governments, industry, academia, and international and non-governmental organisations—through knowledge management, policy guidance, technical assistance, and capacity building.
7.Perform other related duties as assigned by the President, COO, Chief Economist, Director-General for Research and Policy Design, and/or other senior management officials.

Qualifications:
1.An advanced degree in international relations and communications, regional studies, public policy, economics, development, or a related field.
2.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multicultural team.
3.Extensive experience (more than five years) in communicating with governments in ASEAN and Emerging Asia, particularly Singapore, is strongly preferred.
4.Strong analytical and research skills, with experience in economics, trade, energy, and related fields within ASEAN and East Asia.
5.Ability to present key findings effectively to public audiences.
6.Excellent writing skills, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality publications.
7.Experience in handling data sources.

Language:
1.Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English.
2.Proficiency in Asian languages would be a strong asset.

Working Conditions and Terms of Employment:
1. Term
The appointment is for a fixed term of one or two years, with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum of five years in total, subject to reappointment by the President, performance, and budget availability.
