Full Text of JOE Listing:
Economists at Amazon partner closely with business stakeholders, scientists, and engineers to solve problems across all Amazon business units. Embedded within a business unit or a central science team, you will build models on large-scale data systems to shape decisions that reach hundreds of millions of customers. Increasingly, economists work at the frontier of AI and Reinforcement Learning, combining causal and structural methods with machine learning to build and evaluate AI-driven systems.
We value a broad range of applied econometrics skills: reduced-form and observational causal inference; structural estimation of preferences and strategic effects; forecasting, macroeconomics, and finance; all with strong foundations in statistical methods. Applied micro, empirical IO, mechanism design, health, labor, and public economics are all highly valued.
