Freddie Mac is currently seeking a Econometrics Manager (Affordable Housing) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and/or analyzing quantitative models; developing strategies to analyze and interpret output of models or analytic applications; planning, executing, and documenting analysis of complex financial models; providing modeling and analytical assistance to a line of business or product areas; evaluating and managing risks associated with the company’s models; performing detailed model validation reviews; establishing performance thresholds; researching model approaches; providing innovative, thorough and practical solutions to an extensive range of demanding problems; and receiving assignments in the form of objectives and determining how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies
• Recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization’s operation
• Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors
• Acts as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems
• Develop and administer schedules, performance requirements, and budget responsibilities
• Manage the coordination of the activities of a section or department
• Research and publish evolving needs of the Affordable lending and Access to Credit markets
• Support analytics for new offerings, programs and services
Qualifications:
• College degree in Finance, Economics, or Quantitative discipline
• At least 8 years of related experience and 2+ years of Management experience
• Ability to perform complex financial analysis, calculations, and systems tasks with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
• Strong background in computer science or econometrics
• Capability to develop and estimate econometric models including but not limited to linear regressions
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Proficiency with SAS, Stata, R and/or similar analytical software or programming experience
• Advanced Degree in Finance, Economics, or Quantitative discipline is preferred
