The Department of Economics anticipates one opening for a three semester, full time, fixed term Lecturer position running from Spring 2018 through Spring 2019. Minimum qualifications are ABD in economics with Ph.D. expected by August 1, 2018, evidence of teaching effectiveness and an active research agenda (to satisfy AACSB accreditation standards). Preference will be given to those applicants who have demonstrated teaching excellence in classes where the applicant was the instructor of record. The teaching load is four sections per semester with section sizes generally between 20 and 45 students. Subsequent one-year appointments are dependent on performance and departmental needs.
The successful applicant may be asked to teach one or more of the following courses: Applied Business Statistics, Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, development of the Pacific Rim (general education), or economic issues (general education).
