Position Description


The Department of Economics in the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University invites applications for a one-year, full-time, term-faculty Instructor to teach a mix of microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics, quantitative methods, data visualization, and/or econometrics courses.

Responsibilities will include teaching a total of six undergraduate and/or graduate level courses. Most or all of these courses will meet in person, but some online teaching may be required. Responsibilities also include department, school, and/or university service.

Compensation at a Glance: Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate’s gender or any other protected status.

Qualifications

ABD or PhD in economics, statistics, or related field by Fall 2023; teaching experience; current research portfolio.
