Outline: The Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) of Osaka University invites applications for one tenure-track position in economics at the rank of either Assistant Professor (Lecturer, Koshi in Japanese) or Associate Professor. All fields of economics will be considered.
Position: Tenure-track Assistant Professor (Lecturer, Koshi in Japanese) or tenure-track Associate Professor.
Qualifications:
1. Must have a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in economics or related fields, or expect one by March 31, 2024.
2. Must be able to teach in either English or Japanese.
3. Must be prepared to acquire a sufficient language skill in Japanese.
Starting Date: April 1, 2024, or at the earliest possible date thereafter.
Term of Employment:
Five years from the date of appointment. The initial appointment is for five years with the first tenure review at the end of the fourth year. If evaluated as necessary at the first tenure review, the contract term may be extended once by three years, and will be followed by the second tenure review at the end of the seventh year from the date of the initial appointment.
