A blog post for the Brookings Institution cowritten by former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke cited a paper published in the September issue of the American Economic Review. In Beyond GDP? Welfare across Countries and Time, authors Charles Jones and Peter Klenow propose a new way to measure economic well-being.
